The Honorable Brenda Stardig

District A. Houston City Council Member


Brenda Stardig has lived in District A of the City of Houston for more than 40 years. She has served her community and neighbors of West Houston, devoting time and energy to improve the community in many ways. Her compassion and determination is evident throughout her career and her continuous service as Council Member of District A.

Brenda is a past president of one of the largest Super Neighborhoods in the City of Houston. She served as president of a civic club of over 1,000.  Brenda has also organized numerous crime fighting initiatives. As a Spring Branch Education Foundation member, she has strived to strengthen public education including initiating the foundation of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) at Northbrook High School in Spring Branch ISD. She has served as a director on the boards for government, financial, and medical corporations. Brenda has been distinguished for her tireless efforts, having been awarded the Keep Houston Beautiful Mayor’s Award and the award for Leadership in Excellence in Neighborhood Development from Bank of America.  She also received the Ms. Wheelchair Texas Angel Advocacy Award for her advocacy for persons with disabilities.  Brenda also serves on the advisory board of the local YMCA to raise money for programs like Active Older Adults and after school programs.  She also supports the local Lions Club and Rotary.

In addition to being a community leader, Brenda is an accomplished businesswoman. She excelled in the financial industry for 20 years prior to her successful transition to real estate. Brenda is a multi-million dollar producer who is trusted throughout the industry. Brenda is known for her passion for her client’s interests and seeing those interests become their reality. She also offers her expertise serving as a member of three different real estate associations.

During Brenda’s time as Council Member, she had served as a first term Vice Chair for the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Committee and is currently serving as Chair of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee.

Brenda has dedicated her life to expanding opportunities for others and preserving the culture for the people of District A. Her dedication is driven by her faith, as she humbly continues to serve her community as Council Member of District A.
